One of the aims of Plastic Free Chesterfield is to assist individuals in taking action on single-use plastics. This page has been set up to help you to do this!

Plastic Free Swaps

We can all make little swaps to switch away from single-use plastic. Try this bingo card!
Here are some examples:
Bathroom
  • Use a shampoo / conditioner bar INSTEAD OF buying single-use plastic shampoo/conditioner bottles
  • Refill shampoo / conditioner INSTEAD OF buying single-use bottles - see below section on refills
  • Use a bar of soap INSTEAD OF buying single-use shower gel / body wash bottles
  • Refill hand soap INSTEAD OF buying single-use bottles - see below section on refills
  • Refill toiler cleaner (or buy bog bombs) INSTEAD OF buying single-use bottles - see below section
  • Use bath bombs INSTEAD OF buying bath soap in a plastic bottle
  • Use a bamboo / wooden toothbrush INSTEAD OF a single-use plastic toothbrush
  • Use dentabs / toothpaste tabs (or make your own) INSTEAD OF using single-use plastic toothpaste
  • Use bamboo/silk dental floss INSTEAD OF single-use plastic dental floss
  • Use bamboo cotton buds INSTEAD OF single-use plastic cotton buds
  • Use cardboard / 'naked' deodorant INSTEAD OF spray deodorant
